A man who had just boarded the bus and bore witness to the unfolding events approached the occupied seat. He cleared his throat and politely asked the woman to vacate the seat.
She maintained her gaze outside the window, offering no response. An audible gasp rippled through the bus.
The man repeated his request, but the woman, finally meeting his eyes, responded with a resolute "no." The man's expression shifted from surprise to anger, his brows furrowing deeply.
"Get up now, unless I'll..." he began, but was abruptly interrupted by the woman. "No," she asserted. "There are other vacant seats on this bus."
