“The right to bear arms” (The second amendment)
People desire the right to bear arms, driven by a sense of responsibility for safeguarding themselves and their loved ones, albeit through potentially lethal means.
The debate emerges when differing views on firearm possession surface, with some arguing that unregulated access to guns fosters a culture of violence.
Advocates for stricter government control over gun ownership contend that it would act as a deterrent by making it harder to acquire weapons.
In the tapestry of American voices on the Second Amendment, diverse opinions abound. Some staunchly support its retention, viewing it as essential for family protection.
Conversely, there are those who advocate for its abolishment, citing concerns about the perpetuation of a violent societal ethos.
Amidst this spectrum, some see it as a matter of personal choice, recognizing the complexity of the issue.
“Brenda Spencer”
She used a 22-caliber sniper rifle her father gave her for Christmas when she opened fire in a school.
When she carried out the school shooting, she was 16 years old. She opened fire on a large number of pupils from her house around 8:30 in the morning as they were leaving for school.
She killed the school's principal and janitor while injuring 8 children and 1 police officer. Within minutes of the initial gunfire, 20 patrols and more than 100 police officers were at the school.
Brenda's phone number was reachable by the police. She admitted to using barbiturates and brinking to the police.
She gave the cops the simple explanation "I don't like Mondays" when they questioned her why she did it.
Boomtown rats produced the song "I don't like Mondays" which tells the story of Brenda Spencer and the incident. She's still in prison today.
