Introduktion
Maud Joachim was a woman who was born in 1869 and passed away in 1947. She was the niece of Joseph Joachim, who was a famous violist player.
That was not what she was famous for though, she was famous for being a suffragette for the organization of "Women's Social and Political Union" (WSPU).
Joachim was a member of the organization since 1907. She grew up in Steyning, located in England and went through college at Girton College studying moral science.
During her time of protesting she went to prison multiple times but she kept going with the protests, even when she was serving her time, she kept the protests up.
As you probably already gathered, she was very dedicated to making a difference for women all around the world.
Utdrag
Maud Joachim was a big activist and worked hard to make women achieve the same rights as men. The reason why women have the same rights today (for the most part) is because of these brave women who back then gave everything to the cause.
She was by this masculine society, so she challenged them back. Joachim never gave up, even when she came back from prison she didn't give up on her work to change society.
After she was released from prison in February 1908, she released an article to inspire other people to join the movement.
