“Tuesdays with Morrie” by Mitch Albom is a novel published in 1997, the novel has two main characters Morrie and Mitch.

Morrie is a sociology professor at Brandeis University, Morrie’s love of teaching and desire to treat others with compassion and understanding make him a beloved friend and mentor to many, including Mitch who is the narrator of the book.

Morrie and Mitch meet every Tuesday and discuss the meaning of life. I am going to analyze Morrie’s character and explain his role in the plot.

Utdrag
Morrie and Mitch talk about the world and this is their first Tuesday starting and they discuss the meaning of life.

Morrie says to Mitch “The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in. Let it come in.

We think we don't deserve love, we think if we let it in we'll become too soft.” (We talk about the world pg 52)

Morrie’s diagnosis with ALS has made him realize that his time is running out, and that he must share his wisdom on "The Meaning of Life" with other people.

In this part Morrie wants to teach Mitch that giving love and letting yourself receive love does not mean that you are weak, we think that way only because of what our culture tells us but we should not follow that.

In Conclusion giving love and receiving love is a beautiful thing and don’t be stubborn against yourself because love is a rational act.

Morrie’s character is very interesting in the sense that he always wants to encourage people to what matters and what should be done and gives deep-rooted advice.

Morrie has the key role in the plot becaouse he has so much knowledge and wisdom and he always wants to help others in the best way.

Mitch and Morrie discuss aging then Mitch asks Morrie “I'm wondering how you don't envy younger, healthy people” Morrie replaise “oh I guess I do. I envy them being able to go to the health club, or go for a swim. Or dance. Mostly for dancing.
