Introduktion
Ever since the modern age, humans are constantly developing and coming up with new projects and inventions to make life more enjoyable. Industries and science have made it possible for us to take the edge off by producing products that calm us down and make us keep up with our stressful life, like cigarettes.

Cigarettes are a little toxic product filled with all kinds of chemicals that are harmful to the environment. The main ingredient in the cigarette is the bioplastic known as cellulose acetate that takes years to degrade, but other harmful chemicals like nicotine, heavy metals and tar are also packed within and are released after the smoking is done (Root, Tik. 2019. Cigarette butts are toxic plastic pollution. Should they be banned?

Utdrag
Since the early days of cigarettes not many people have acknowledged the negative effects that come with the relaxing effects of the cigarette.

The cigarettes then were even more dangerous than the ones made today because there were no laws and knowledge about some of the substances that are being compressed into them.

The main ingredient in the cigarette is the nicotine which when consumed causes an addiction to it. An article proving the hazardous state of the tobacco industry is shown in an article by Clean Virginia Waterways in which it was noted that from year 1952 to 1989 cigarettes contained substances like: crocidolite - the most dangerous form of asbestos, menthol in menthol cigarettes which reacted with other substances and made chemicals which interfere with respiration and cause lung problems, heavy metals which in very minor doses can be lethal and so on…( Register M. Kathleen, 2000, Cigarette Butts as Litter—Toxic as Well as Ugly, http://www.longwood.edu/cleanva/ciglitterarticle.htm).

The thing that still stands from the past is the tar that's still being incorporated into the cigarette which still poses health risks, heavy metals, carcinogens and so on...

Since those days the production has taken new steps to making the negative sides of the cigarettes less serious by using less of the carcinogens and making more “healthier” alternatives that mimic smoking.

After smoking the cigarettes tend to wind up in nature because of a weird sensation that most of the smokers get. The good sensation that is achieved when flinging the cigarette into the unknown is what makes the cigarettes travel through nature.

The first thing that the cigarette buds come into contact with are the plants. In the previous paragraph, the contents of the cigarettes are represented and now those substances will be the ones getting absorbed by plants, but it takes time.
