Introduktion
How would you define the perfect body? Body image pertains to how individuals perceive their own bodies, while distorted body image refers to an unrealistic self-perception of one's body.

This issue is most commonly observed in women, but it also affects many men. Do you find yourself comparing your appearance to that of others? Whether intentionally or inadvertently, there's a significant likelihood that you do.

Why? As humans, we often use others as a point of reference to assess ourselves and our own abilities. In this generation, many young women compare themselves to others on social media, which can be mentally taxing as they strive for physical perfection or the idealized body with curves.

Utdrag
Some individuals, particularly young girls, may attempt to emulate these so-called "Instagram models" and idolize them to the extent of undergoing multiple costly cosmetic procedures.

I recently read an article in the Danish newspaper 'Ekstra Bladet' about a mother of three who passed away after undergoing a $25,000 surgical butt lift.

It's not only a tragic end to a life cut too short, but it also illustrates the price some people are willing to pay for unrealistic beauty ideals that we relentlessly pursue in the West.

Some people take these pursuits to extreme levels, endangering their lives and suffering disastrous outcomes. Perhaps they should consider alternative means of enhancing their self-esteem instead of constantly resorting to surgical alterations.

Focus on the positive aspects and consider exercise and dietary plans if striving for the "perfect" body. Beauty isn't solely about the appearance of breasts and buttocks, and it doesn't need to conform to a specific mold.
