Introduktion
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I extend a warm welcome to all of you who have chosen to join us here today.
My name is Jake Blake, and I am a student at Aarhus Business Colleges in Denmark. I am here to shed light on the topic of online privacy, as well as the purposes and impact of surveillance on our daily lives.
When it comes to your online privacy, whether you're creating a profile on Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, or just casually surfing the web, it may be more fragile than you initially thought.
Have you ever pondered why social media platforms grant you free access without any financial charges?
Utdrag
The United States, as the world's only superpower, possesses advanced surveillance technology and numerous agencies and personnel to manage it.
The movie "Snowden," based on a true story, follows Edward Snowden's journey within the intelligence community. Snowden worked in various roles, such as a system engineer, system administrator, senior adviser for the CIA, and more. Ultimately, he became an infrastructure analyst for the NSA.
Edward Snowden emerged as a whistleblower, revealing the alarming activities of the American government, of which he had been a part.
He made the public aware of the extent of surveillance and sacrificed his achievements, dreams, and legacy to become an enemy of the very country he had wanted to serve and protect.
He acted selflessly to give the people of the United States a voice and the opportunity to choose for themselves. Fortunately, he obtained asylum in Russia.
Surveillance on a global scale has its pros and cons. One significant drawback is the potential for a single false accusation, where every decision and discussion can be scrutinized and exploited.
On the positive side, surveillance effectively prevents terrorism and assassinations, enhancing public safety.
