Introduktion
A pheromone is a chemical substance produced and released into the environment by an animal affecting the behavior of others of its own species.
Pheromones are most commonly released by animals to signal to others that they are ready to mate or that there is danger nearby. Most commonly, pheromones affect sexual and mating behaviors.
Although psychologists have not found actual pheromones in humans, there is research showing that some chemicals under controlled conditions may lead humans show behaviors similar to what we see in animals.
Wedekind wanted to investigate if (MHC) played a role in human mating behaviour.
MHC are a group of genes that produce molecules which enable the immune system to recognize pathogens, these genes are inherited by both parents.
