Introduktion
Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to change in shape and grow grey matter with accordance to environmental needs as well as pactive.
It also refers to the ability of the brain to form neural networks and rearrange the connections between its neurons, that is, the
changes that occur in the structure of the brain as a result of learning or experience.
The concept is that as our brains develop through time, the brain adapts to certain parts of the brain which we use the most, this leads to grey matter. The grey matter indicates that there are more synapses and neurotransmissions.
Another way that our brain can change is through synaptic pruning - which is a decrease in the number of synapses as a result of the removal of dendritic branches.
Pruning can be the result of neuron cell death, hormones such as cortisol or the lack of use of a neural pathway.
