Our existence is very scary and quite obscure. A long long time ago in a galaxy far far away, humans discovered consciousness and for the first time in a very long time started to question our own reality.
With this came our search for answers to questions that might surpass the human calendar, mainly this nail-biter “Why do we exist? (just to suffer1)?”. There have been many attempts to answering this question, religion has been one of such. But it is all pointless and I am here to tell you why!
We woke up in a world of chaos, filled with other species. Some we ate; some ate us.
There was water that we could drink; things to make more things. There was a shiny yellow sphere in the sky during the day and a canopy of beautiful stars shining during the night. Surely this place was created for us, it must have been created by someone; someone who is constantly watching our every move.
Great structures built in the name of deities, the fingerprints of science and philosophy born long before its time, the drumbeat of industry coming alive, the development of modern medicine, of scientific materialism, of the mastery of nature, of the acknowledgement of the right of all humans to exist in a state of international equanimity.
The dawn of an age where millions, no, billions need not die of disease, of hardship, of war.
There have been leaders, thinkers and sages throughout history, but none of them ever came close to him. Half-human half diety, moral, just, indomitable, indefatigable.
How noble in reason. How infinite in faculty. In apprehension how like a god!
